THE NEW HIGH COMMISSIONER. COUNCIL FOR JERUSALEM. (By Tdegrriph.--Press Assn. — Copyright.) (Reuter’s Telegrams.) LONDON. May 29. Mr Herbert Samuel will leave for Palestine on June 20 and take up his duties as High Commissioner on July 1.
The Palestine authorities have appointed ■ new Council for the community of Jerusalem, with a Moslem president and a Jew 'rice-president. The Council consists of two Jews, two Mohammedans and two Christians.
