IN THE MATTER of "The Municipal Corporation Act, 1908.” and the Amendments thereof and of "The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.” PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Borough of South Invercargill proposes to borrow by way of Special Loan in exercise of the powers vested in it by the above-mentioned Acts, the sum of £7OOO for, the purpose of Erecting a Memorial Hall; the said Hall to contain Council Chambers, Free Reading-room, and Athenaeum.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that it is proposed that all preliminary expenses in connection with the scheme for which the aforesaid Loan of £7OOO is to be raised anti the first year’s interest and sinking fond of the Loan shall be paid out of the loan. The aforesaid Loan of £7OOO and the interest thereon shall he secured upon all the. annual income and revenues of the Borough and also upon a sinking fund of one pound per centum per annum on the amount of the Loan. And the interest and sinking fund shall also be secured by a special Rate upon all the rateable property of the Borough of South Invercargill sufficient to meet the periodical payments of the said interest and sinking fund ak they fall due and ten per centum more than such payments. And the said loan of £7OOO or any part thereof shall be raised by the issue of 70 debentures of £IOO each repayable at the expiration of 14 years from the Ist day of September, 1020, and beating interest not exceeding the rate of 51 per centum per annum payable halfyearly and the principal and interest of the said debentures shall be payable at the Bank of New Zealand, Invercargill.
