SEAWARD DOWNS. A social and dance was held in the Seaward Downs Public Hall on Thursday to bid farewell to Miss Enright, who has been school mistress at Seaward Downs for the past nineteen years. Although the night was stormy a large crowd assembled to show their appreciation of Miss Enright’s land and valued services. Mr Arnott occupied the chair. The first part of the programme consisted of vocal items and dialogues. After the close of the concert Mr 11. McCall/sen., presented to Miss Enright on behalf of her many Seaward Downs friends a silverniountod oak tray, a silver mounted dressing case, a silver fish set and a Doulton afternoon tea set. Mr R. S. Wilson spoke of Miss Enright’s valuable services, and expressed his regret at her departure from the district, and wishing her health, happiness and prosperity in her new sphere of life. Miss Enright feelingly replied. After refreshments had been served, the hall was cleared and dancing was indulged in till the small hours of the morning
