He stated that while more than 1000 ships, including four battle-cruisers, were under construction in Britain at the lime the armistice vr* signed, only the Hood had been completed. He denied categorically statements that Britain had commenced the construction of a pipe-line from Baghdad or Mosul to Haifa, and that Britain was trying to monopolise the world's oil fuel supply.
