ASSAULTS ON GIRLS

GRAND JURY RECOMMENDS FLOGGING. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 24. In connection with the criminal sessions opened this morning (he Grand Jury found a (rue bill again-t a man charged with assaulting a girl in Haeley Park, and submitted a presentment stating that in the opinion of the Grand Jury (logging should form pert of the punishment in cases where accused was convicted of indecent assault on young girls. Mr Justice Herdman said that cases of this character differed, hut he would give consideration to the jury’s- finding.
