THEATRE DOORS AND YARROW STREET MOTOR CARS AND CYCLES.
. To the Editor. Sir, —On Friday night, very cold, wet and windy, patrons to the stalls were denied entrance by the new door under the front stairs, and again had to face the atrocious weather to get their seats, owing, time and again, let it be said, to the Williamson Company failing to provide a ticket collector or part of one—for the one for the dress circle could by standing at the foot of the stairs pass in both. The ratepayers of Invercargill paid for the theatre and are entitled to and shpuld insist on better treatment by the corporation. For a long time past motor cars and cycles have raced down the north side of Yarrow street—the wrong side—to the danger of up-going tram passengers, which should at once be stopped. The line of rails is not quite in the centre of the street, but there is ample room on the south side for other vehicles to pass. At least twice before I have complained re both these matters, and hope they will now be righted, in the interests of the people of this to^yn.—l am, etc., WILLIAM HANDYSIDE.
