ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES
A MOTOR, COLLISION. MANAWATU SETTLER KILLED. OTHERS INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, May 21. A motor fatality occurred one mile on the Wanganui side of Sandon at 6.30 last night. A car, driven by Mr Warren Ncwth, a taxi-driver, coming from the Wanganui races crashed into a car driven by Mr A. E. Egiii’.ton, a Sandon settler, going from Palmerston. Both vehicles were overturned and wrecked, and Mr Eglimon sustained terrible injuries to his head, and died shortly afterwards. Mr E. A. Penny, a farmer** who was sitting in the front seat, had Tris skull fractured and both legs broken. He is net exported to survive the night. Mr and Mrs A’Court, who were in the back scat, escaped with a few bruises. Mr Newth was rendered unconscious, but is not seriously injured. Mr Basil Faircloth is practically unhurt. Mr N. Powell recci’TU sevnc faciei injuries, Mr J. S. McConkcy and Mr Kidman had face and ar-ain wounds. Mr Rrndn!!, a postal employe-', is suffering from shock and bruiser.
