During a bullfight at Talavera a bull disehmbowelled Joselito, the greatest bullfighter of Spain. The tragedy caused a national sensation, as Joselito was a popular hero. He entered the ring in 1912, and had since killed 1430 bulb and earned £40,000 annually.
