DOMINION FAIR

DRAWING OF ART UNION PRIZES.

The drawing of the art union prizes in connection wi!h the recent Dominion Fair in. aid of the funds of the Dominion Band was held in the Municipal Theatre last night. The first part of the programme was occupied by pictures screened by the management of the Civic Pictures, the programme that has been running for the las£ three nights and which included the famous Lee Kids, being shown. The second part of the programme included several local performers and some enjoyable items were given. Mr Stanley Hall, the popular baritone, was heard to advantage in a light ballad, and he was accorded a good reception. Mr B. Wills gave “The Lost Chord 1 ’ as a cornet solo, and it was played with artistic finish, the performer obtaining a splendid tone. A humorous sketch by Messrs A. Mayne and J. Stewart produced many laughs, and the eccentric dance given as a recall was a good number. Mr B. C. Galloway, with his mandoline, gave a couple of items which caught the popular fancy, and which were well performed. Mr A. Sutherland supervised the drawing of the Art Union numbers which followed.
