RYAL BUSH. The Ryal Bush hall, which had been nicely decorated for the occasion, was the scene of a large gathering on Wednesday last, when tha spinsters of the district commenced the winter festivities with a grand ball. The night being fine, many young folks journeyed long distances to be present, Wallacetown, Waianiwa, Taramoa and Locheil districts being represented. First rate music was supplied for the dancing by Miss N. Croad, and Mr N. Maloney and Mr J. S. Jenkins controlled the floor in a most efficient manner. Mr R. Jenkins contributed a couple of songs, which were very much enjoyed. The committee, with Miss Annie Pert as chairwoman and Misa Jessie Wilson as secretary, deserve credit for the capable way in which the arrangements were carried out. At the conclusion of the ball, which was kept going till an early hour. Mr A. E. Cocker, on behalf of the guests, returned thanks to the spinsters of Ryal Bush, for a most enjoyable evening.
