LANDING OF TROOPS. REINFORCEMENTS FOR CORK. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Reuter’s Telegrams.) LONDON, May 17 Two thousand troops were landed at Bantry and were immediately distributed throughout West Cork, where they are stationed at points five miles apart. Some of the troops are commandeering public buildings in the towns, and using the Town Hall as headquarters. CLARE COUNCILLORS KIDNAPPED. STERN MEASURES AT LONDONDERRY. (The Times.) LONDON, May 18. (Received May 19, , 12.45 a.m.) Sinn Feiners broke up a meeting of the Clare County Council, kidnapping three councillors and carrying them off in motor cars. The Londonderry magistracy are taking drastic measures to quell the riots in the city. The public houses are closed at 4 o’clock. A large force of troops has arrived and is throwing a cordon round the affected areas.
