AN AMBIGUOUS VERDICT
CHARGE AGAINST YOUNG WOMAN. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 18. A young woman named Hilda Holden, who was tried some time ago on a charge of manslaughter at Whangarei following the death of her newly-born infant, appeared before Mr Justice Chapman at the Supreme Court this afternoon for sentence. The finding of the jury which tried the girl was the subject of recent Appeal Court proceedings to dereimine the effect of the verdict.
