AUCKLAND TRAMS
NEW SCALE OF FARES. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 17. The proposal to increase tram fares has been adopted by the City Council and contiguous local bodies with the exception of Newmarket, which asks for a modification of the new scale. The penny section is to be abolished altogether, the minimum fare now being twopence, with corresponding increases. The concessions have been reduced. One penny above the cash rates will be added to all Sunday fares.
