PALESTINE
OUTRAGES IN GALILEE.
(By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) CAIRO, May 16. A typical story of native outrages in Syria is reported. A tribe attacked three Christian villages in upper Galilee because they had not paid money demanded. They looted and burred dwellings, churches and a monastery and mercilessly slaughtered the villagers. The most favoured method was to tie a coat over the head of the victim, whom they would drench with petrol and set on fire. Nine women were killed in one hour.
