ITALIAN SHIP MINED
PASSENGERS AND CREW ADRIFT. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.! (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ROME, May 12. (Received May 14, 1.50 a.m.) The steamer Assiria, 965 tons, engaged in the service between Sicily, Sardinia, Corcisa and Leghorn, struck a mine and sank. Four boatloads of the ship’s people were seen near Santo Stefano. Destroyers have gone to the scene.
