Dr Hamilton Rice’s party has returned from the exploration of Para and the river Orinoco, and reports a battle with giant cannibals, ferocious savages, almost white in colour. Dr Rice believes it is the first time these cannibals have met whites since 1764, when a Spanish exploring party met them.
