DETECTIVE SERGEANT SHOT. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON. May 8. (Received May 9, 11 p.m.) An unknown man shot with a revolver Detective Sergeant Revell, while he was cycling in the suburbs of Dublin. Revell is in a serious condition. Received May 10, 12.30 a.m.) Detective Revell wore a steel underwaistcoat, but his assailants wounded him on the amt, leg and neck.
PRISONERS RELEASED

Thirty-seven Sinn Feiners imprisoned at Belfast were released to-day. They were hunger-striking for the Curfew order in Dublin to be removed at the end of the month. This is the first fruits of Sir Hamer Greenwood taking office in Ireland. TALK OF A POLICE STRIKE. (United Service.) LONDON, May 7. The Star’s Belfast correspondent states that according to an authoritative source the Royal Irish Constabulary contemplate a general strike if the Government do not afford the force better protection.
