Ross — J. T. Martin — W. H. Hall — R. Tapper — John Kingsland — D. L. Matheson — J.H. Smith — David Hunter — Robert Cleave — Wm. M'Leod — Duncan M'Arthur Mr Joseph Hatch. Bankebs : The National Bank of New Zealand. THE objects of the Company are to provide by local enterprise and capital one or more (in accordance with the growth of the district) steam vessels to perform our own coasting trade, with suitable accommodation for the passenger traffic. It is intended that the whole of the capital should be subscribed in the immediate neighborhood of InvercargiU and adjoining localities, including Riverton, Campbelltown, Queenstown, Nokomai, Switzers, and Mataura districts, the intention being to trade between the three first named ports and Dunedin. The promoters hare been induced to float this Company, being aUve to the fact that during the last twelve months the steamers Storm Bird and Wallabi have been running regularly in our coasting trade, carrying our own freights to and fro, as also passengers belonging to and doing bpsiness in tbe immediate district, and now strongly urge the residents of the district to provide for and retain the profit of their own trade. Already the project having been brought before the mercantile interest and capitalists of InvercargUl at a public meeting, the whole of those interested in the distriet have intimated their intention of eupport by unanimous resolution. 'J he success which has already attended other Local Steam Shipping Companies in this ani the neighboring colonies (it being an indispensable adjunct to trade and commerce), combined with increasing direct shipments from home, consequent upon late alterations in the tariff, and the rapid strides the export timber trade is making, support the promoters in the confidence of unqualified success. The wool and grain growers are particularly invited to co-operate — the former as giving them extra opportunities to pla?e their staple on board the first ships loading for London, and the latter enabling them of en to secure the best market iroxn which formerly they have been debarred. Until the Directors see the necessity of another boat (or extending their operations beyond those now contemplated) it is not intended to call up more than forty shiUings per Bhare in payments as foUows : — Five shillings on application; five shillings on allotment; and the remainder at intervals of not less than three months — in calls of ten shiUings each. Applications for shares, which the Directors are desirous should be diffused over as large a number of residents as possible in the districts pfevidttslyj'eferred to, can be made to. JOSEPH HATCH, Interim Secretary. InvercargUl, N«v. 21, 1873. i
