Mocrorie, auctioneer, reports ;— On the last two Saturdays, the demand for horseß has proved to be sustained, several changing hands on each occasion, but very first-clnes draughts do not bring the encour ging prices eveiywhere ehe in the province. Among these, one young mare passed the hammer at £32, that would have commanded nearer £50 in the Dunedin market, and another light harness horse Bold for £25, the rest being for roadsters at from £8 to £12 10s. Stock of all descriptions continues to be sought for, but the market is very bare.
