Consolation Handicap, 15 eovs. Distance, once round tHe course s entrance, £L lsHr/BBY ScUBBY. RULES AND REGULATIONS. The rules of the Winton Jockey Club will be strictly enforced. By the term " District" shall be meant all horses bona fide the property of residents within a radius of 10 miles of the " Winton Racecourse." All such horses to have been owned and trained within such District for a term of three months prior to the 26th December, 1873. The stewards will have the power to reject the entrance of . any horse not considered qualified for the District ' Races. This will also apply to the Farmers* Race. Three horses to enter or no race. No person to enter or nominate a horse unless he be a subscriber of not less than £2 2s to the Race fund. Moreover, no person to enter or nominate a horse, not his bona fide property, unless the said subscription of £2 2s be paid for the actual owner also, under forfeiture of any race such horse may win. All protests must be made in writing, accompanied with the sum of £2 2s, and lodged in the Secretary's hands within 16 minutes after the race is run. The £2 2s to be forfeited to the funds of the Club should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. All entries to be sent in not later than 8 p.m. on Monday, the 22nd December, in sealed envelopes, addressed to the Steward?,' White's Railway Hotel, Winton, containing entrance money, qualification money, full description and age of horse, name of owner, and colors to be worn by the rider. Weights of the Winton Handicap to be declared at White's Railway Hotel, Winton, on Friday evening, 26th December, at 9 p.m. Jockey costume insisted upon. Dogs on the course will be destroyed.
