(Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., R.M.) \ Monday, October 6. James Henry Stevens, at present in gaol under two charges, was charged with obtaining goods by false pretences, to the amount of £2, from Thomas Patchett, and was committed for trial to thts Diatrict Court. William Jo7mston and Thomas CHllon, charged with desertion from the whaler Sarah Pile, were remanded until the afternoon for the attendance of the captain, when on being brought up, Gillon, by the advice of His Worship, agreed to return to the ship, and Johnston was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Two drunkards, on being called, forfeited bail by non appearance.
