London, August 23. Business on the Stock Exchange is restricted. The followiog are the latest quotations of stocks where alterations have taken place : — Victorian five per cent, debentures, 107 i; New Zealand consolidated fives, 103 1 ; New Zealand sixes, 113 ; Queensland' sixes, 110 ; Bank of Australasia, 55 ; Union Bank, 43 £ ; London Chartered Bank, 24; English, Scottish, and Australian Chartered Bank, 20£. Wheat has further advanced in value. Tallow, oils, petroleum, and hides remain unchanged. Copper is firm, Chile at £81 to £83, Australian £91. Tin is active, Straits at £128 to £129.
