Typhoid fever is prevailing in several parts of London. The crew of the Deerhound are to be tried as pirates. There are no fresh cases of cholera reported in London. The contract has been signed for laying the cable between the Cape of Good Hope and Mauritius. Cholera is spreading in Vanburg (?) and Berlin. The Spanish Cortes has passed a Bill to call out 8000 of the reserve .forces. Carthagena is preparing for a determined resistance. The insurgent ships fired on a foreign frigate, which returned the fire. No damage was done. Low prices are prevailing for New Zealand hemp. Tallow is unsettled. Disconnt, 4 per cent. Stocks are steady. The wool sales closed firm. Victorian greasy, hot water washed, realised 2s3£d ; cold water washed, 2s s£d. Average prices were obtained for fleece wool. Tbe Bangalore left Point d& Qalle for Australia on the 7th inst.
