'• ' H. E. Osborne, auctioneer, reports the sale of dwelling house at Gladstone for £280. Esk street, August 2L , .'..' , puNEipnr. Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report, fort the week ending 16th August, as follows : — • Fat Cattle. — There was a full supply, mostly of medium quality. 90 head were yarded, of which we sold 75 head at from £3 15s to £S. We quote prime quality 25s per lOOlbs; medium do, 20sY ' Fat Sheep. — 496 were penned. We sold 186 half-breds, fair quality, at from 17s 9d to 18s 6d, and 80 merino wethers, middling quality, at 13s 6d. We quote prime half-breds, 4d per lb ; do merinos, 3£d to 3£d. We also sold privately 500 half-breds, at 4d per lb. Store Cattle. — We have enquiries for grown cattle for forward delivery. We sold during the week 96 head bullocks and cows, at £3 15s. We quote bullocks, 3 tas years, at £4 ; spayed cows, £3 5s to £3 10b ; mixed lot:, £2 10s. Store Sheep.-— Young sheep are iv fair request, but holders generally are disinclined to accept rates offered. We sold 500 merino ewes, diy, at 7s. We quote half-bred wethers, lis 6d to 12s ; atTewes, in lamb, 16s to 18s ; do, hoggets, 10s ; merino wethers, 7s 6d to 8s; do, full-mouthed ewes, in lamb to Leicester rams, 8s 6d to 10s. .Horses.— There is a brisk demand for good heavy draught colts and upstanding coach colts. We quote first-class draughts, £50 to £55; medium do, £26 to £30 ; good saddle and light harness horses, £22 10s to £28 ; medium do, £11 to £14 ; light and inferior, £3 to £6. ''Sheepskins. — We held our usual weekly sale on Wednesday last, when we offered 2000 green and dry station skins. There was a full attendance of buyers, but competition was hardly so keen as at our last sale, yet we cannot quote any dechne in values. We sold station skins — merino, 2s to 3s ; half-bred, 3s 6d to 4s 3d ; green skins, merino, 2s 5d to 3a 6d ; half-bred, 4s 4d to 4b Ud ; Leicesters, 5s sd. Hides continue in but moderate request, at a dechne of 2s to 3s each on prices realised last month. We Bold 60, light to medium weights, at from 15s to 22s each. Tallow. — There is a fair demand for good parcels, suitable, for shipment. We sold several small lots, inferior to fair quality, at from £25 10s to £32 per ton. Grain. — Wheat is not much in demand this week, and millers will only buy first-class samples, most of them having already large stocks on hand. We quote first-class, 5s 3d to 5s 6d per bushel ; inferior, unsaleable. Oats continue in request, at 4s 3d for feed, and 4s 4d to 4s 6d for milling samples.
