Pnblie notices. [Extract from the New Zealand Gazette, July 24, 1873 ] Colonial Secretary's Office, Wellington, 22nd July, 1873. IN compliance with a Resolution of the House of Representatives, passed on 22nd October, 1872, a Bonus is hereby offered for the encouragement of certain Colonial Industries, namely : — IRON. Bootb or £5,000. For the production in New Zealand of 1,000 tons weight of Pig Iron, of marketable quality. Conditions. 1. The bonua not to be given for any quantity lesa than 100 tons. 2. Notice of the intention to erect Iron Works and claim the bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary, before 31st December, 1873. 3. The bonus must be claimed before the 30th June, 1575. „ 4. In the event of more than one claimant giving such notice, not more than seven-tenths of tiie bonus may be claimed by the first producer, and not more than three-tenths by the second producer ; but if only one claimant becomes a producer on the above conditions, he may claim the whole of the bonus. 5. The Iron in respect of which any bonus is claimed will be examined by an officer to be appointed by the Government, who may require the production of bond fide account sales of quantities not lees than 100 tons weight, showing that euch Iron haa been sold at a fair market price aa Pig Iron. SUGAR. Boots of £2,000. For- the production of 250 tons of Sugar, manufactured from Beetroot in New Zealand. Conditions. •1. Notif-e of the intention to claim thia bonus must be given to the Colonial Secretary before Slat December, 1873. -% 2. Claims for payment of the bonus to be sent is before 30th June, 1875. 3. The bonus will be paid to the producer who first effects a bond fide sale of the amount of Sngar specified. FISH. , Boots ot 4a Pra Cwt. This bonua will be paid on Cured Fish, dry or pickled, exported from the Colony for consump. tion. abroad. Conditions. 1. The bonus will be paid to the producer on tbe production of account sales showing that the Fish has been sold out of the Colony for fair market value. -2. The exporter to enter into a bond not to reland in tbe Colony any Fish on which a bonus has been paid. 3. The bonus may be claimed on all Fish exported between let August, 1872, and Ist NdVemoe'r, 1879, and is to be paid out of any moneys appropriated by Parliament for the purpose: ' 1 ■■ '■' , TT - " .
