1 Auckland, July 24. Arrived. — Wellington. Sailed. — Phoebe, and Lady Bird. Tattbanga, July 24. The yield of wheat this harvest is expected to be double that of last year. ■Wexi/Dtgtoit, July 24. The New Zealand Gazette contains a proclamation of the following bonuses for Colonial Industries : — lron : £5000 for the first 1000 tons of pig iron produced of a marketable quality ; no bonus for less than 100 tons. Notice of the intention to claim the bonus must be lodged before the end of the year, and the bonus must be claimed before the end of June 1875. Where there are two claimants, the first producer will be entitled to seven-tenths, and the second to three-tenths. Sugar : a bonus of £2000 for the production of 250 tons, manufactured in the Colony from beetroot. The dates for giving notice and claiming bonus are the same as for the iron. Fish : a bonus of 4s per hundredweight of fish, dry or pickled, exported from the Colony. The claimant is to produce account sales, and the exporter to enter into a bond not to reland the fish in the Colony. The bonus will be payable on exportations between August 1872 and November 1879. The total Customs revenue of the Colony for the quarter ended 30th June was £231,262, being £29,000 over the corresponding quarter of 1872. The total for the year ending 30th June is £855,813. The total gold export for the quarter ended 30th June was 95,639 ozs, of the value of £379,563. The Independent to-day says that the Government intend to propose a measure which will absolutely fix the right of the Provinces to borrow, without the necessity of Parliamentary legislation, each Province being allowed to borrow money upon its own credit and upon specific security, the Colony not being liable for interest or sinking fund of the debt. Wangantti, July 24. The schooner Meteor, from Dunedin, went ashore on the south spit last night, and is likely to become a total wreck. Her car^o, which consisted of flour and grain, can be landed, but will be badly damaged. The pilot signalled her to go to sea, but the schooner stood on. Hokitika, July 24. The County authorities have been served with a writ at the suit of the Hokitika and Grey mouth Tramway Company for a breach of regulations under which the Company commenced operations.
