QtTEEffSCLTFF, July 11. The steamer City of Washington wa3 wrecked ten miles from the scene of the Atlantic disaster. Mr Gladstone has withdrawn several Bills. The Press comments on the barrenness of the session. Lord Cairna has called attention to the extension of the Appellate Judicature Bill to Ireland and Scotland, as a breach of the privileges of the House of Lords. Arrived. — Duke of Edinburgh. The JJ.M.S. Baroda left Galle for Australia on the 6th July, aud the Bangalore arrived there on the Bth. A cable telegram to Messrs Goldsbrough and Co., states that the next wool sale is likely to be well attended by home and foreign buyers. About 200,000 bales are to be offered, and improved prices are confidently expected. A London telegram to the London and Australian Agency Corporation states that the prospects of the coming season are favorable. It is expected that 200,0'J0 bales of wool will be offered for Bale on 10th July. The market is brisk, and a large attendance is expected. The demand for gold for Germany has ceased.
