A strike among the Scotch miners is threatened. The Bank forgers have been committed j for trial. j The Queen has conferred the order of the Garter upon the Shah of Persia. Prince Bismarck has retired to his estate. It is believed he has left the Prussian Cabinet on account of a difference between Yon Koon and himself on the course taken by the Keichstadt in insisting upon an adjournment before voting the Military Bill. A committee has been appointed to consider M. Thiers's Constitutional Bills. The Khan of Khiva, in submitting to . the Russian General, begged for mercy. |
