Per Wallabi, for Dunedin—Messrs Basstian and Carrick. The Storm Bird left Port Chalnwrs at 10 30 p m. on the 3rd, with the Southland portion of the salmon ova per Oberon. She went alongside tbe s.s. Claud Hamilton at the heads, and transhipped mails for Bluff, where she arrived at 4 p.m. on the 4th. Experienced fine weather with southerly winds on the passage down. The Claud Hamilton was still on the bank when the Storm Bird left. All tbe cargo had been taken out, and she was discharging her coals. The brigantine Barah Pile, owned by Mr Prints, has at length arrived from Sydney after a passage of 12 days. She left Sydney on the 22nd April, and experienced strong easterly winds on the passage down. Sighted tbe West Cape on Saturday at 7 a.m., a strong westerly Kale blowing, with heavy sea. Passed the Solanders at 8 p.m. on the same day, and arrived at the Bluff at 5 p.m. on Sunday. She is a smart vessel of 115 tons register, and has been fitted up for whaling on the New Zealand coast by Mr Prin'z, who has spared no expense in making her a vessel well suited in every way for his purpose. We understand she is to be commanded by Captain Gilroy, who, we have no doubt, will make the most of her.
