A Texas paper says : "We have been asked why we stopped publishing the list of marriage-licenses issued by the clerk. Because a great big stand-in-the-mud out there in the sand-hills said we publisned his daughter as married when she wera't, and that he would hit us on. the head hard enough to knock our ankles out of joint for it. Is the explanation satisfactory ?"
