RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Friday, 25th April. (Before A. J. Elles and W. H. Pearson, Esqs., J.P.s ) A female was fined 10s for drunkenness. Slaughtering licenses were granted as under : — Thomaa Pettigrew, Mokomoko ; David M'Nau^hton, West Plain ; Thomas O'Brien, Bluff Road. Greenhill v. Hamilton. — Claim for £2 10s for wages. Wo appearance of plaintiff. Case dismissed, with costs, £1 103. Saturday, 26th Aprii. (Before W. H. Pearson, Esq., J.P.) Peter Summers was charged with stealing £10 from the person of Frank Pelling, on the 19th April, near Wallaoetown. Prisoner was remanded for eight daya, for the production of evidence. Monday, 28th Afbix. Hugh Christie, alias George Bowers, was changed by the police with stealing a bridle and martingale, the property of Mr Duncan M' Arthur, jun , at Mataura on Saturday, 26th. On the application of Sub-Inspector Fox, accused wsb remanded for eight days for the production of evidence. '
