Messrs Wright, Stepfcenson, and Co. report for the week ending 18th January, as follows : — Fat Cattle.—The number yarded —9o head, mostly good quality —caused a fall in prices of fully 2s to 3s 'per 1001b below late rates. We ■old 23 head cows and bullocks, light weights, at from £5 to £6 10s. We quote prime quality, 18s to 20s per 1001b; middling do, 15s. Fat Sheep. —The supply is very light, only 100 merino we there in wool having been penned, which we sold at 14s each., We quote prime half-breds, 2±d per 1b; merinos, 2d. We sold privately 500 merino wethers at latter figure. Fat Lambs are in good request. We sold 120 at from 8s to 10s. Store Cattle. —No transactions. Store Sheep. —The enquiry continues active, with but few sellers. Our sales corc prise 1200 half-breds, 2-tooth, at 10s ; 2000 merino wethers at 5s 6d; 46 Leicester ram lambs at from 35s to 45s ; 60 Leicester ewes at from £2 to £3 10s. We quote half-breds, 2 to 4 tooth, 9s to 10s; merino wethers, 4, 6, and 8 tooth, 5 s 6d; fullmouthed ew.es, 3s 6d to 4s. Country-dales.—At East Taieri, oa the lfitb inst. 22 draught horses brought from £15 to £38; dairy cows, £2 15s to £5 ; growing crops —wheat, £4 5s per acre; oats, 25s to 40s; waggons, harness, and farming implements, satisfactory prices. Horses. —The demand is good for heavy draught mares and coaching and light harness horses. We quote first-class draughts, *50 to £60; medium do, £30 to £35 ; good hacks and light harness hones, £20 to £25 ; medium do, £12 to £16 ; light and inferior, £4 to £6. Wool, 4c—We held our fourth sale of wool, Ac, yesterday, at which there was a full attendance of buyers. All wools light in grease, both merino and half bred, were keenly competed for, and prices obtained must be very satis!actory to growers. Well washed lots brought an advance on late rates. Sheepskins, ef which we offered over 6CO, fetched very full values, 89 high as 10s 8d being paid for half-bred. Hides — Heavy wanted; inferior and badly salted not. •o saleable. Tallow—We sold a small lot,' inferior, at £30 10s. Good tallow is worth £32 to £34. The following is the result of the sale of runs held on the 20th : — Run No. 303, situated near the function of the Waiau a»d Wairaki rivers, and containing 15,200 acres, was sold to Mr M'Kellar for £820, together with a premium of £88 6s Id. Bun 350, in the Lake Wakatip dis trict, and containing 46,000 acres, realised £2995, with- a premium of £245 10s 2d ; the purchaser was Mr Larnach. Sun N0^394, situated n^ar the Te Anau Lake, containing 29,000 acres, was secured by Mr A. Booth fdr £1500, with a premium of £139 16i 2d. Bun 441 was purchased by Mr John M'Gregor for £5, and a premium of. £312 3s; the same gentleman boug't Run 413, for £100, in addition to a premium of 3*07 3*. . '
