Hack Sbixino Back of 10 sots. Once round the course. Heats. Catch Weights. Entrance, 20s. Post entry. The winner to be sold for £15 — any surplus to go to the race fund. SECOND DAY— FRIDAY, MARCH 7th. Handicap Htjbdiiß Race of 30 sovs. Open to all horses. Distance, two miles and a distance. Over 8 flights of hurdles, about 3ft 9in. high. Entrance, £2 2s. Inteboabgiix Handicap of 50 sots., with a 6weepstakes of £3 added. Distance, two miles. Entrance, £3 3s. Half forfeit after weightsare declared. Hack Hcbdxb Race of 20 sots. One mile and a half. Over 5 flights of hurdles. No less weight than lOst. Entrance, £2. Post entry. Handicap Tbotting Race (distance) of 10 sovs., with a sweep of £1 added. No less weight than lOst. lib. Distance, three miles. Entrance, £1. Consolation Handicap of 15 sovs. For all beaten horses during the meeting. Distance, once round the course. Entrance, £1. BULES AND REGULATIONS. No entries will be received for any of the Races except upon these conditions, that all claims and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority ot them, whose decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the above programme shall be final. In the event of any person entering a protest, a sum of £2 2s must be lodged with the Secretary, or one of the Stewards, before any such protest is considered ; this sum to be forfeited to the funds of the Club should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexatious. Rules of late Southland Racing Club strictly adhered to. No person will be allowed to enter or run a horse unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber of 2 guineas to the Race Fund. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross moneys paid in accordance with the Programme for expenses. All entries must be sealed and addressed to the Stewards or Secretary (entrance money enclosed), with name, ago, pedigree of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of the rider. Three horses to be entered, or no public money will be added. ■ .. Any horse walking over will only receive 50 per cent, of the stake. No Jockey allowed to ride except in the colors entered. Entries must be made to the Stewards, and addressed to the Club Hotel, Invercargill, before the hour of 8 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 4th of March, 1873. Handicaps will be declared the same night, except for the Invercargill Handicap, which will be declared on the evening of Thursday, 6th March, 1873, at the Club Hotel, at 8 p.m. All dogs found on the course will be destroyed. Racing will. commence each day at 12 o'clock. g2ir No horaes will be allowed to train on the Race-course except upon payment of a fee of £1 to the Secretary, who will issue tickets of admission. Time op Payment. Payment to be made within a fortnight of the commencement of the quarter. Allowance. Where more than three children of one family are sent, the younger ones above the number of three will be taken at half price. In addition to the above Masters, two Pupil Teachers will be engaged on the staff. It is expected that arrangements will be made for teaching drawing and instrumental music.
