The ship Palmerston, from Port Chalmers, anchored at the Heads on Saturday morning, tbe 18th. She left the above port on the previous Monday evening, strong westerly gales being encountered on Tuesday and Wednesday, and light S.G. winds from then until arrival. Capt. Cumming, Coasting Pilot, was in charge of the ship on the passage round. She will be brought up to the wharf as soon as the weather will admit.
