The following is Meiers J. H. Clough & Co.'b station produce report and price list for the week January 3 : — Wool.— During the last month the usual weekly ••let have been held, at which there have been ■bout 20,000 bales catalogued in Melbourne, of which nearly 12,000 bales have changed hands, in addition to the business done in Geelong. The demand" for all descriptions of merino wool continues, and competition for good clips is brisk, at prices somewhat lower than were current last month. Cross-bred wools are in less demand, aad are only saleable at reduced rates, which is al»o the case with small parcels of indifferently got up lets. The weather, which at the date of our last monthly report was very unsettled, has since taken up, and the clip is coming forward ad rapidly that a short time will only be required, with the increased railway facilities we now possess, to bring the bulk of it to town. Prices current are— Greasy, inferior, B£d to 9 id per ib; do, average to good, lOd to lid do ; do, superior, 12d to 14d do ; fleece, inferior, 14d to 16d do ; do, ordinary to average, I7d to 20d do ; do, average to good, 22d to 23d ; do, superior, 24d to "26d do j scoured, inferior, 14d to 16d do ; ordiBarj, I7d to'l9d do; average to good, 20d to £2}d ; superior, 23d to 26d do. In consequence of the holidays, there hav|*.been no public sales held in Melbourne during the present week ; they will, however, be resumed again next week as uso*]. - Sheepskins.— iWe hare disposed of an average supply during the month, pricea showing a downwaMjiendency. Our sales. have been at the following, quotations, viz^— Butchers' green skins, Ssißd to 6s 6d each ; pelts, 6d . to 2s 6d do j dry •kins, 2s to'fo 8d do j station skins, 7d to Ui-i per Ib. Hides. -^We have bad a fair supply forward at oor various sales, and have found no difficulty in clearing off .at last month's rates, which remain Arm. Juices are as follows, viz., for— Ox bldoe, <

green, 24s to 35a each ; cow do, 16s to 22s do ; wet salted do, 4jd to sfcd per lb ; calf skins, 6d to 7±d do. Tallow. — During the month, by auction and i private sale, we have disposed of about 300 casks, ' prices throughout showing a lower range than . last month. The demand for local consumption > has been small, and the high rate of freight has precluded shippers operating, except at low rates. The buyers have determined to brine: about an alteration in the tares of pipes whioh will come into force on and after the Ist February next, as follows — "That every cask employed shall be made of good well-seasoned timber, and shall not Wfigh gross more than 6 cwt., and that the tare shall be at least 112 lbs. ; that the tare shall be scribed on each cask, by the manufacturing cooper, who shall place his brand, burned in, alongside of such tare, as a guarantee of hona fides. And in all cases where the above rules are not complied with, the tare to be 17 per cent, on pipes and 19 per cent, upon all other casks." Prices rulo as follows, viz., for — Inferior, £27 to £29 10s per ton ; mixed. £30 to £34 10s do ; beef, £32 to £34 do ; mutton, £35 10§ to £36 5s do. i Leather.— We have held our usual sales during the month, and have disposed of a considerable quantity of various descripions at the following prices, viz , for— Crop, lOJJ to Did per lb ; kip, 20d to 24d do ; calf, 2s 6d to 3s 9d do ; kangaroo, 2s 3d to 3s 8d do ; runners, 2* to 2* 31 do ; harneßa, 13d to 14fd do ; basils, 6i to 6s 6 i per doz.
