Melbourne, Jap. 9. The meeting of the Intercolonial Conference, has been delayed for the arrival of the Western Australian delegates, who are expected by the mail steamer. Arabella Goddard, the celebrated pianiste, leaves London for Australia in March. Hrtm'mrghcr and Oppenheimer, for commercial conspiracy, have been fined £500. There has been a serious strike among the colliers at Newcastle. The Lainbton Colliery Company haa conceded the demands of the men, and work haa been resu7i j d. The othsrs, however, are still on at: ike. New Z >aland wheat is quoted at 5s 7|d ; old Adelaide at 6s 3J ; new do, 4s 4d. Sugars have advanced from 10a to 15s on last eales.
