The " thistle nuisance" seems to be the cause of " hot words" in Victoria. At a meeting of the Bannockburn Shire Council, held on 10th December, a letter was read from the Meredith Shire Council, complaining of the thistles near their boundary, when it was unanimously decided that so far as the noxious weed was .■ concerned, the Meredith Shire was a disgrace to ' the colonj, and. had even gone so far ' as to "infect" the Bannockburn Shire with a portion pi their disgrace. It was stated by a Councillor : that tbp.&| B t]eg in some places were so high, 'strong, anj||hiok, that a man could not get a ndrse and-rdnfr through, them. '
