Owing to 'the number of patients treated during thecnrrent .year having been greatly in excess of the usual averageVthere is a pressing necessity for increased effort being made to provide for its maintenance. In making this appeal, the committee would especially notice the fact that, while most of the patients treated are from the country districts, but few contributions arrive from those districts, with' the exception of those annually collected on tbe stations at shearing time, and they therefore trust that this appeal, addressed particularly to the country settlers, will be liberally responded to.
