By the term "District" shall be meant all horses bonaffide the property of resident* within a radius of 10 miles ; of the "Winton Racecourse." All such horses! to have been owned and trained within, eueb, district ' for 4 a term of three months prior to the 26th December. The stewards will" have the T power to reject the entrance of any horse not considered qualified for the District Handicap. This will also apply to the Farmers' Race. Three hwrses to enter or no race. No person to enter ornominate a howe unless he be a subscriber of nofc les9 than £2 2j to the funds. Moreover, no person to enter or nominate a horse not;his ; so»a > /We property, unless the said subscription of £2 2s be paid for the actual owner also, under forfeiture of any race such horse may win. All protests must be made in writing, accompanied with the Bum of £2 2s, and lodged in th« Secretary's hari-Js within fifteen minutes after the race is run. The £2 2s to be forfeited to the funds of the club should the stewards consider the protest friyolous or vexatious. All entries to be^sentm not .later than 8 o'clock p.m., on Saturday, the 21st December, in sealed envelopes, addressed' to ;the' stewards, White's Railway Hotel, Winton, containing entrance monpy 1 , qualification money, full description and age of horae,nauje of owner, and colors to be worn by rider. Weights of the Winton Handicap to be declared at the Rulway Hotel, Winton, on Thursday evening, the 26th December, at 9 o'clock p.m. Jockey costume insisted upon. Dogs on the course will be destroyed. Five per cent.' will be deducted to defray expenses. Races to sta"t each day at 12.30 precisely. No charge will be made at the gates this year. THOMAS S.
