RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before H. M'Culloch, Esq., R.M) Monday, Dbcembbb 16. Blakie v. Trumble. — In this case plaintiff claimed £13, value of a collie dog' shot by defendant. The case was that plaintiff's dog came to defendant's premises, and remained there from two to three days, the defendant making every effort in the meantime to discover the ovrner, and sending his son in charge of the dog to a neighbor, to whom it might possibly belong. Not succeeding on the morning of the third day, defendant shot the dog, which waa afterwards claimed by plaintiff, when defendant offered £5, or another dog, as compensation. Judgment was given for £10, and costs (inclusive of counsel's fee, £1 Is), £1 19s. Mr Macdonald appeared for plaintiff.
