Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report, for the week ending 23rd November, as follows : — Fat Cattle. —The number yarded —72 —was above the average. We sold 44 bead, at from £5 5s to £7 5s for cows, and £5 10.3 to £9 123 6d for bullocks —equal to from 22s 6d to 243 per lOOlbs for prime quality, and 20s for middling ■jdo. We also sold, privately, 50 head at £9 round, and 30 head at 25s per lOOlbs. Fat Sheep. —soo were penned, being about " equal to trade requirements. We sold 155 halfbred*, shorn, good quality, at 11s, and 50 inferior merino ewes at Bs. Other sales consisted of about 300 merino wethers, in wool, fair quality, at 14s to 15s, and a few half-breds, in wool, at 22". We sold, for delivery next week, 1000 half-brel wethers, shorn, at 2^.1 per lb, which figure we quote for prime quality. Fat Lambs. —There was a full supply, 90 being penned, and prices fell fully Is 6i ptr head. We sold 56 at from 6s 6d to 103 each.. Store Cattle. —There is a good demand for well-grown cattle. We sold 70 head mixed cows ftßd-Tjullockfl, »U over 2 years old, at £3 3s. We quote bullocks, 3to 5 years, £4 10s; mixed herd 97 50s. Store Sheep. —We have constant enquiries for . Jialf-breds and merino wethers, both of which $ escriptions we could place irr considerable numbers. We quote 2 and-4-toothhalf-breds, 6s to 7s, 6d ; t 4, .6, and 8-tqoth merino wethers, 4s 6d .to' 5f1.! ] We have placed 1000 half-breds, for delivery on station, at quotations. Horses. — The enquiry is confined to the better sort of heavy draught and coaching horses, and for such good priceß are obtained. At our yards on Saturday, a large number were offered, and a considerable proportion of them changed hands. We quota first-claas heavy draughts, £50 to £60 ; medium do, £30 to £35 ; good hacks and-light harness horses, £18 to £25 ; medium do, £12 to £15 ; light and inferior, £3 to £6. Wool. —We held our opening sale of the Beaaon on Thursday last, at which we had a large attendance of buyers. Our catalogue comprised chiefly half-bred wool in grease. The biddings throughout the sale were spirited, and nearly every lot was quitted at prices that may be considered satisfactory to growers.
