RAILWAY TRAFFIC RETURNS.
The following are the Southland railway traffic Teturnß for the month ending Oct. 31st : — Corresponding Passengers. Mb. Cash receired. Month in 1871.
H. E. Osborne, Auctioneer, reports :— The Bale of cattle and horses at Winton on the sth inst. was well attended, and the following prices realised : — Coach horses sold from £5 to £11 each ; cows, from £2 to £3 10s ; young stock, from 22s to 27s 6d ; passenger coach (all faults), £21 ; lease of premises, £9 ; bow and young pigs, £2 15s the lot ; 1 dray, £6 10s. All the sundries brought satisfactory prices. Esk street, November 7th.
