Hides are in good demand, at id aiv;!nce. 307 New Zealand- have beea sold at G-l-d. Leather is in active demand, at an advance of If 1. Sales:— Bast, 13d to 15 1 ; seconds and stained, 12d t0,14d. Butter. — Fair, 50s. New York. Sept. 2. Tke, Y.Atoa of freight have advanced. Dunedin, 17^.-. pr e foot ; Wellington, 50c. Wool has undergone no chauge, nor is the tone of the market altered. There is little disposition to take large parcels. Sales include 2-ol bales of Australian, at 57c to 58c. Fiax is very quiet, in sympathy with hemp. No sales are reported. Prices" are nominally 9c. to 10c. for good. Kerosene "is inactive, although prices have advanced, and there is still an upward tendency. The market closed firm. Devoe's 32 centa. Oysters and lobsters are scarce and firm. Dried apples are firm. Sax Francisco, Sept. 11. The Olympia, with the Nebraska's passen«rerrf, has not arrived. The Idaho has been engaged by the agents for the line to make up the lost time. Breads tuffs. — Heavy transactions in wheat have taken place at 1 dol. 50c. ; flour, 5 dol. 50c. Liverpool quotations for wheat on 9th September were 12s lOd per cental.
