D. Macrorie, auctioneer, reports : — Through not selling at the yards previous to the gathering on the Show Ground, there was considerable difficulty in getting an attendance eubeequently, but it was gratifying, after waiting co long, to find a full muster of buyers, and the competition well sustained. The cattle on the whole realised very fair market rates, and all but three bead passed the hammer. Mr Cuthbert's were first offered, and prices ranged for cows at 46a to sOs ; beifers from 26s to 48s ; yearlings, 255. Mr Maher's were a good lot of milkers, and brought from £2 10a to £3 Ins. The spring cart, horse, and harness were not sold at auction , but I was offered £22 for the turn-out by private treaty. Owing to the lateness of the hour, I believe, the horse market was very heavy, none changing hands. At the miscellaneous sale which took place at the conclusion of that in the yards, and again in the evening, prices were as fully sustained as on any previous Saturday. Albion Yards, 14th October.
