We retain our quotations of last week unaltered, viz., prime qualitr, 255 ; infeaop^andjnediam, 18s to 20s per lOOlbs. Fat Sheep. — About 900 were yarded, a full *upply, and prices ruled less firm than at previous, week's sale. . Our sales comprise 90 •cross-breds, at 14a to 18s each; 80 merino wethers, at .lls 9d ; 100 inferior mixed, at 7s ; 200 merino' we th'ers, at lls 9d ; other sales were 110 cross-breds,. at_.l9s 3d to 19s -6d ; 100 merino ewes, 7s to 7s 3d ; about 200 were turned out unsold. We have a fair amount of-enqu : ry for all descriptions, but chiefly for grown bullocks and spayed cows. Our sales are, 133 head mixed cattle,' at 42s 6d, and 40 head of bullocks, at £3 10s. Store Sheep. — All descriptions continue to be freely Inquired for, but there are few or none offering, and we have no sales to report. Wool. — Our London agent's report of 12th July reached us too late for publication in our last. We condense it as follows: — During the past fortnight the market-has been very firm, and prices certainly harden as the sales progress, the decline at the commencement having been nearly regained, while for greasy combing parcels, for which a good demand for American account has again sprung up, rates are fully equal to those ruling iv. May. Middling greasy and scoured sorts hare not improved since tbe opening, but ■cross-breds are still "bringing high 'prices. Trade in the . manufacturing districts is very, healthy, and present rates are likely to be maintained, as our home buyers are J now : purchasing more freely; "The laslrtwo ~«aW for the- year will commence on the. 12th September and 21st Norember respectively, when we fancy that prices will show a still further improvement. Sheepskins. — Since receipt of advices via Suez of the favorable aspect of the home wool market, skins have been in better request, and very full prices are now obtainable. At our usual weekly sale to-day, there was a fair attendance of buyers, a^d brisk competition. Dry v station skins sold at S|d per lb ; butchers' skins, merinos, at 5s 3d ; eross-breds^ at 6s 6i each. Hides are in good demand at 16s. 6d to 18s 6d each. .Tallow.— The quantity coming forward is very ■ limited. At auction, to-day, we sold a few casks fair mutton at £32 lOsper ton. New Zealand Hemp is freely enquired for privately, and -we have sold 25 bales fine at £24 per ton. - : Grain. — In wheat there is no alteration to note, transactions being quite unimportant. Prime samples are- held for 5s- 4d to 5s 6d. Barley — Jfone offering. Oats have been in better request during the past week, and .the value of good feeding, "qualities has slightly improved. These we quote at Is lid to 2s ; milling,- 2s Id to>2s2d.
