LONDON MARKETS.

The following is from the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's circular, dated London, June 27 : — UE"W ZEALAND HEMP. The transactions in this import during the month have been to a, limited exfent. Two public sales have been held, at which 378 bales were offered. Of these a portion consisted of parcel* in second hands. The first auction took place on sth instant, when of 313 bales brought forward only about one-half were disposed of at and after Bale, medium to good fetching £33 5s to £38 per ton. In the second auction, of 65 bales cataloeued only a few bales sound good medium clean hemp were sold at £37 per ton, the remainder being bought in above market, rates. Since our last advices 392 bales have been imported, and by the statement of stocks, landings, and deliveries prepared to Slet ultimo we find the following results : —

PRESERVED MEAT*. Regarding this import we are not in a position to report more favorably than on 30th ult. The supplies received to 20th instant since our last statistics have amounted in the aggregate to about 25,000 cases, while the deliveries for the four weeks which expired on 21st idem are only 13,500 cases; There must be now in stock fully 100,000 cases, and as many of these contain tins too large in size for the requirements of the home trade during the summer season, there cannot, we think, be any advance in prices ; on the contrary even at current rates 6ib tins are with difficulty placed, the existing demand bein^ for 2 and 4lb sizes. The Australian mails which were dpliverud on 10th instant brought advices of the shipments thence being 11,681 cases during the four weeks prior to despatch of the April mail. Market quotations are as follows : — Mutton. Beef. 6lb Tins, 4$ J@ 5d lb 4£d @ s*d lb 41b „ 6£d @ 6Jd „ 6*i @ 6Jd „ 21b „ 6fd @ 7±d „ 6Jd @7d „
