Pnl>lfc Hotice. SOUTHLAND HOSPITAL. 4 CANVASS of the town for subscriptions in J\ aid of the Hospital having just been concluded, the Committee of Management would feel obliged if any persons who may have been missed by the collectors would send in their contributions to either of the undermentioned gentlemen. The committee would also appeal to those in the community who almost invariably escape personal solicitations of this kind, through their not having publio places of business at which the collectors might call. Working men arc particularly reminded that they should make it a duty to contribute according to their ability to the support of an institution of special benefit to their class. A.a the list of subscriptions must be published shortly, it is requested that all who intend to contribute will do so before Saturday, 24th inst. The collectors are Messrs G. Lumsden, J. Hare, T. Perkins, and R. Gilmour, but subscriptions will be received by any member of committee. The committee trust that this appeal may have the desired effect, and as an additional inducement to liberality, they may remind the public that the amount of Government aid accorded to the Hospital now depends on the amount of publio contributions, on the principle i of £1 for £1.
