The Convention of Regular Republicans Of Philadelphia unanimously recommended President Grant for reelection a3 President, and Senator "Wilson as vice-president. The Free-trade League has held a great meeting at New "York in opposition to General Grant and Mr Horace Greeley. Mr Greeley retires from the editorship of the Tribune during the contest. The concessions under the new Tariff Bill will come into operation on the Ist August. The Canadian Parliament has abolished the tea and coffee duties, authorised a new Pacific railway, and accepted the fisheries clauses of the Treaty of Washington.
