CABTEB. — At Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand on the 2Srh May, John Chillton Lambton Carter, Esq., J.P., Captain, late H.M. 44th and 53rd Regiments, second Superintendent of the Province, and Crown Land Commissioner, son-in-law of the late James Lillicrap, Esq., Vice- Admiral of the Fleet. R.N., of Plymouth, Devonshire, aged 55 years. Webster. — At his residence, Spey- street, Invercargill, on the 31st May, after a brief illness, David Webster, painter and decorator, aged 40 years.
