The lowe3t or any tender not necessarily accepted. — - nnHE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to K. receive tenders for the supply and delivery of two hundred and eighty (2SO) telegraph poles, for a line of telegraph to be constructed between Invercargill and Winton. The poles to be sawn from the heart of totara. The poles to be of the following dimensions, thirty (30) to be twentyfive (25) and two hundred and fifty (250) twenty (20) feet long. To be eight (8) inches square at the butt, and six (6) inches square at the top. The poles to be sound, straight, and free from shakes, knots, and sap. ZT.B.—Nb pole will ba accepted which contains the least sap. The poles to be laid along the Invercargill and Wiaton railway between its junction with the Riverton road and Winton, at points hereafter to be indicated. The pole 3 to be delivered within three months of the date of signing the contract. Tenders are to specify the price per pole as per size given. Each tender to be accompanied by a deposit of ten pounds (£10) aa a guarantee of good faith, which will be forfeited by any tenderer, should he refuse to take up his tender, in the event of its being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the two proposed sureties.
